In this major new documentary series, two young British doctors immerse themselves in radically different cultures in four of the most extreme places on earth. The doctors, who also happen to be identical twins, explore the mysterious world of tribal medicine to discover whether traditional forms of healing have anything to teach us about bodies, health and curing illness.

Presenters
Twin British doctors Chris and Xand Van Tulleken share more than their parentage and their profession. They both have a love of adventure. And their experience of practising medicine in far-flung places - Chris has been a doctor in Greenland and the tropics, Xand lived with a forest tribe in Guyana and worked in the conflict in Darfur - led to their idea of investigating the health and medicine of remote communities.
