The Hot Zone
In the first programme, Chris and Xand travel to one of the most disease-ridden places on Earth to live with the Bayaka Pygmies in the Congo Basin. This densely forested region of equatorial Africa is renowned as the incubator for the most deadly viruses known to man, including Ebola and HIV. Over the course of a month, the brothers try to understand how the Bayaka have managed to thrive for tens of thousands of years in such an unforgiving environment. Finally, however, it is the simple need to eat that presents them with their greatest challenge…

This is absolutely incredible television. It is so well narrated and presented that I think these two highly intelligent brothers have a very bright future. I'm thinking our generations Attenboroughs - and I don't say things like that lightly.

What a shame that we do not get to know what happened to the baby when they left...

It was great to hear/see one of the brothers start out thinking they were going in to improve life for the Bayaka and then leave feeling humbled by the experience and respectful of the relationship the tribe have with their physical environment.

Amazing programme. Can't wait until next week for the next one. Was slightly uncomfortable when they delayed helping the baby - yet fully understood why they couldn't just charge in. Well done to all invovled in the making of the programme.

This was stunning tv, thank you for taking me deep into the Congo Basin. You guys are amazing,so young and yet so wise. It was a tad uncomfortable watching; knowing that you could help the baby, but it was so very important that you stood back and waited for the other chap to do what he had to do, before you offered your help. Ths is the very best of British TV. I am looking forward to watching the rest of the series.

Chris and Xand just did just about everything i have ever wanted to do in one episode!! they built a shelter, slept under it,climbed up a tree in an attempt to find honey...wow! Though i did find the parts with the Baby and mother upsetting, things like that happen all the time and living in our world, we are almost oblivious.
