About the presenter
Annelie is the presenter of Channel 4's The Kitchen Pharmacy in which she shares and demonstrates some of her natural recipes and remedies for common conditions. She intends to do more kitchen-based TV shows as well as creating more intrepid shows exploring the fascinating world of indigenous medicine.
Natural medicine has always been a large part of Annelie's life, even in her previous career as a stunt woman throwing herself of buildings or being set on fire. She firmly believes that herbs and nutrition saved her after a serious stunt-related accident and resulted in her quest to learn more. In parallel to her stunt career, she completed a degree in Naturopathy, specialising in Herbal Medicine. Further study of both Eastern and Oriental medicine has enabled her to travel around the world working with a number of shamans and with Ayurvedic doctors.
Annelie has spent time in Central America experimenting with indigenous medicine and at an Ayurvedic practice in South India. Here she worked extensively with patients to diagnose and administer ayurvedic massage, herbal medicines and oils, and has benefited enormously from the experiences of local practitioners.
In conjunction with presenting, Annelie practices naturopathy and herbal practices at Neal's Yard Remedies in Notting Hill. Her commitment to natural medicine has fuelled a desire to communicate this knowledge and she has spent much of the past two years developing ideas for television shows and documentaries whilst continuing to further her knowledge and experience.
