Menstrual Pain

contributed by SusanitaPeru 13 Feb | 09:26

I’m from Lima, the capital of Peru so medicine for my little problems was available but I was not keen to take them for little things like menstrual pain. My mum was always telling me that some home remedies could release my pain but I thought just a few minutes and it will go. One day I could not stand it and my mum came to my bedroom with a cup of a green drink, I asked her what it was and she said “you just drink it”, after a couple of minutes I felt so fine that I decided to go to the kitchen to find out what it was. To my surprise the drink was only made with celery leaves, so since then that’s been the best cure for that horrible menstrual pain.

thanks for this suggestion! i suffer badly every month and have tried all the OTC painkillers, but nothing works. i will try this next month (even though i hate the taste of celery!)

Not sure what's meant by OTC, but try using Cramp bark and Raspberry leaves. Don't worry too much about the dosages because everyone is different. Valerian is also good for pain in some people.

OTC = Over The Counter (drugs you can get from the chemist's). Things like Feminax. I use Valerian for sleeping so maybe not such a good idea for me to take for pain! zzzzzzzz ;-) I'll have a look for cramp bark & raspberry too. Maybe tastier than celery (YUCK!)
