Wine makes you live longer
In some parts of Portugal wine is still given to children for breakfast before they go to school. They have wine instead of milk. This is probably as shocking for you as it is for me. However, there are two main reasons for this: wine is more accessible than milk (depending on where you live and what you produce), and some people believe wine helps you live longer because it keeps you healthy.
It is not uncommon for people who celebrate their 100th birthday to say that their longevity is due to a daily glass of wine.
