  • Lemon Balm and Passion Flower Tea

General Info
This is a mild tranquilising tea designed to induce sleep; it’s perfect to drink before bedtime and one to two cups and you should get a restful sleep. Passionflower helps to improve circulation and nutrition to the nerves and, thanks to its analgesic properties, it’s also a very good herb if  you can’t sleep because you are in pain. Lemon balm is typically used for restlessness so it’s very good if you can’t sleep because you are over thinking.

Ingredients
½ teaspoon Lemon Balm tea
½ teaspoon  Passionflower tea
a teaspoon of honey (optional)
a tea strainer or unbleached tea bag

Preparation
Take half a teaspoon of each of the dried herbs and place it in a tea strainer. You can also use unbleached white tea bags, which you can easily buy online.

Place it in a cup and add hot water.

If you want, you can add a teaspoon of honey to make it sweeter but before you do that, add a little cold water first or wait till the infusion has cool down a bit – you should never put honey in boiling hot water because doing this will destroy its good properties and can be toxic.

Warning
Do not use passion flower whilst pregnant. You can replace it with Chamomile tea for this remedy.
