Oat and Chamomile Washcloth

  • Washcloth

This remedy is designed for people with a really sore, dry, cracked skin and it’s the perfect alternative to a washcloth. Oats work as a gentle exfoliant and are perfect to get rid of any dry dead skin cells and are in fact used a lot in skin preparations. Chamomile has a really soothing and cooling effect and helps to take out the redness in inflamed skin. This is also a very good washcloth to use when you are sunburnt and the skin starts flaking – the washcloth will remove any dead skin.

Ingredients
2 cups of chamomile flower
2 cups of jumbo oats
One finely woven muslin bag (best to use unbleached ones)

Preparation
Start by filling the muslin bag with equal amounts of oats and chamomile flowers.

Give it a good mix, so the 2 ingredients are equally spread across, and then tie up the washcloth tightly, so no contents will be lost during use.

You can use this as often as you want. Make sure you dry it on the radiator after each use and replace the content of the washcloth every two weeks, whilst the muslin bag should last for up to 6 months.

Please could someone advise me of where to buy unbleached muslin bags. I would prefer to buy online, but I am having no luck in locating a reputable UK based firm from which to purchase any. Anyone have any pearls of wisdom? Thank you.
